Week 13

Wow I can't believe I'm all ready in week 13. Baby D is the size of a peach this week.

Baby
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

So I'm stopping with the symptoms paragraph. Every week that goes by I feel the same. The bbs remain full which I'm sure they will be until the baby is born and after that. My hunger has completely changed. I'm not hungry like I use to be.

I did pop out a little this weekend. It seems like on Friday I wasn't showing at all and all of a sudden there is a little belly popping out. I would take a picture, but my camera is at the factory getting fixed. As soon as I get it back, I'll take a picture so you can see my little baby bump.

I also started wearing my bella band this week, full time. My last pair of pre-pregnancy jeans still button, but it's a tight fit that I much rather wear them with the bella band. I'm not sure how long the bella band will last until I need maternity pants. I think I might go shopping in the next week or so.

I'm so proud of myself that I have gone to the gym every single day of the week. I just love going and doing a little exercise. I'm not doing too much, but I try to do cardio for at least 45 minutes every time. Hopefully this will help me with the weight gain. Since my energy is back, I really have had the energy to go and workout. You can definitely see the baby bump through my workout clothes, and I'm starting to wonder what people at the gym think. Do they think it's a baby bump? or do they think it's a beer belly?

I really can't believe how fast these last few weeks have gone by. I'm getting SO excited for this baby you have no idea. I can't wait for the months to go by and start shopping for the little one, getting the room ready, and to finally meet him/her one day.

Although according to my OB I all ready started my 2nd trimester, I feel like it will only start in 3 more days.

Well stay tune for some belly photos!!!

"BIG" U/S has been scheduled!!!

I had an appointment this afternoon with my OB. Everything is looking really good. According to him, I'm officially in the 2nd tri!!! My m/c rate drops to 1% now. I'm starting to really feel good about this whole pregnancy. My "BIG" u/s has been schedule for March 30 so starting today you can start voting on what you think Baby D is. John will go to this appointment with me because we both want to be there when they reveal the sex; of course if Baby D is cooperating. I still have no intuition on what Baby D is. Sometimes I think it's a girl and there are other times I think it's a boy. I really haven't told many people at all so I haven't gotten many guesses. The ones that do know they all think it's a girl except my sister thinks it's a boy. She's the only boy guess I've gotten. I'll be counting down the days now for my "big" u/s.

Today was the first time I heard the baby's hb and it sounded so cool. It's amazing to believe that was my baby's heartbeat that I just heard. That tiny heart was beating away at 165 bpm.

Other than that, I'm doing really well and the whole pregnancy is progress really good. My OB is extremely pleased with my progress.

Week 12

I'm 12 weeks today, although Baby D is 12w4d today!!! He/she is the size of a plum.

Baby

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

Symptoms

Every week that passes now I feel better and better. I feel more energetic, and have done quite a bit around the house. I still get tried at night around 9ish, but I'm not sleeping as late anymore. I'm starting to wake up earlier and feeling like I really got a good night sleep. I'm starting to feel so good that I'm thinking of going back to work next week or the following week. It's nice to be home, but it's also boring. There is only so much T.V. you can watch, or books to read, or just sit around. I think it will be good to go back to work and interact and just leave the house for the day.

My appetite is not as out of control like before. I have my three meals a day and maybe one snack in between. I'm still trying to eat lots of veggies and fruits. I even make fruit smoothies some days.

I really haven't gone to the gym as often as I would of liked. I really need to start going and get some exercise. I think in general it's good to just get your body working and moving.

I can't believe it's Thursday all ready. Lately these last few weeks of pregnancy has really flew right by. One more week left and I'm out of the 1st tri, hard to believe huh?

Tomorrow is my appt with my OB. I always look forward to the appts with him. I always bring a list of questions and really try to get the most out of the appt.

NT Scan

So this morning I went for my NT scan. I had a very lousy night last night. I was so anxious for my ultrasound today that it kept me up. I woke up at 2 am and didn't fall back asleep until 5 am. 3 whole hours up anxiously waiting. I can only imagine how I will feel the night before my big ultrasound.

The ultrasound technician that performed my NT scan today was a different woman. All the other times I have had u/s it's always been the same very nice lady. Today this tech was very rude.

I laid down and she begun asking me a few questions. She than began the u/s. She had a student there with her so many times she was talking to the student and pointing things out. I did not hear the hb which I though I might of. The heartbeat was beating quite strong again at 178 bpm. This baby has some strong hb. It's always in the high 170s. I asked her about my placenta and she rudely said that today's test was not to check my placenta. She never let me see my baby or pin point any body parts. She said my baby was lazy today and she had to poke him/her a few times in order to get the measurements. I was measuring 4 days ahead, so woohoo for that. I'm originally 11w6d today but at the u/s baby was measuring 12w3d. After she was done, the student sat down and took control of the u/s. She than moved the screen towards me and pin pointed out a few body parts. You could clearly see the head, arms, feet, facial bones, and heart. He/she was kicking it's feet, waving it's arms at me, and moving all around. The baby is so adorable and every time I see it, I fall more in love with him/her. I know it's so early, but I can't wait to see it's face. John and I are so different that it's going to be very interesting to see what the baby will look like. I just hope that Baby D gets his/her father's eyes which are blue.

Friday is my follow up appt with my OB.

Week 11

I am 11 weeks today only 2 more weeks left and Good-Bye 1st Trimester!!!

Baby
Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.
She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.

Symptoms
I'm starting to feel something different this week. I'm still hungry quite a bit throughout the day, but I've noticed that after taking a few bites I'm completely full. Not only am I full, but I feel full for quite some time after lunch and dinner. I also noticed that foods are starting to taste different. I had pizza last night for dinner, and it tasted like the best pizza I have ever had in my life. On Sunday we made "gravy" spaghetti sauce from scratch and again it tasted like the best sauce I have ever had in my life. I'm really enjoying Italian food quite a lot this week.

This week I've felt a little more tired than usual and that's because I'm at work. I am taking naps and feeling a little bit better.

6 more days left for my NT scan which I can't wait!!! It's just so much fun seeing the baby on the ultrasound screen moving around.

Week 10 & Updates

I'm off by a few days again, but I'm 10 weeks and baby D is the size of a prune

Baby
Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.
He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

Symptoms
I continue to feel pretty good besides the symptoms that don't go away, e.g. sore bbs. I'm not tired like I use to be and it's been a few days now, over a week, since the last time I took a nap. I also noticed that my appetite has slowed down a bit. I'm not hungry all the time like I use to. I still pack snacks just in case, but overall that has been reduced. Overall I have to say that this pregnancy has not been bad at all; knock on wood.

So I had spotting #2 this week. I woke up on Wednesday morning and saw a little drop of pinkish blood. It was very small, but of course I freaked out. I had told myself I was going to until noon to see what would happen. I went to the bathroom a few more times and it was starting to disappear. I called my Ob just to let him know and he sent me in for an ultrasound. I went in and Baby D was doing just fine. He/she was moving around and again we had another strong heartbeat at 175 bpm. I see my Ob next week and I'm definitely going to ask more about this spotting. Again it only lasted 3 or 4 wipes and was very small in quantity.

Here is a belly bloat picture at 10 weeks.
